What is PR TIMES?

PR TIMES is Japan’s largest press release distribution platform, used by over 80,000 companies. A single release reaches up to 300 TV stations, national newspapers, and web media simultaneously — including TBS, Asahi Shimbun, Nikkei, Fuji TV, and more. It is the standard channel for product launches in Japan.

What is Makuake? Do I need a Japanese company to launch there?

Makuake is Japan’s leading crowdfunding platform, equivalent to Kickstarter, with a strong focus on consumer products and gadgets. You do not need a Japanese company — PHYTON acts as your Japan representative, handling registration, page creation, and backer communication on your behalf.

Do I need a Japanese company or Japan office?

No. PHYTON registers your brand on PR TIMES and Makuake as your authorized Japan representative. You communicate with us in English, Chinese, or Korean — we handle everything in Japanese. A Japan entity is not required at any stage.

What if my Makuake application is rejected?

Makuake reviews all projects before approval. PHYTON guides your application to maximize acceptance chances, but we cannot guarantee approval in every case. If your project is not accepted by Makuake, we will discuss alternative channels (CAMPFIRE, Amazon Japan, BASE) at no additional charge.

What is the 20-outlet guarantee?

Every Media PR order includes a guarantee: if fewer than 20 media outlets publish your press release, we refund your full payment via Wise — no questions asked.

How do I pay? Is invoicing available?

We accept payment via Wise (international bank transfer) in USD. An invoice can be issued upon request. Payment is due before work begins. We do not currently accept credit cards.
